We are Jesse and Karlee. We have lived in a van for eight years, driven all forty-eight continental states, and spent eight months travelling across Southeast Asia. Everything on this site is written from the road, by us.
A handful of brands and tourism boards ask each year whether we’ll work together. Sometimes the answer is yes. Here is the honest version of what that looks like, so nobody wastes anyone’s time.
What we take on
Sponsored stories. A real trip, written the way we write everything else. You get an essay or a guide with your destination or product genuinely in it, and we get paid for the work. Labelled clearly as sponsored, always.
Destination partnerships. If you want people to see a place, we are good at making people want to go somewhere. This works best when we can actually spend time there — a few days is a brochure, a few weeks is a story.
Long-term brand relationships. We would rather work with five brands properly than thirty once. If something earns a permanent place in the van, we will keep saying so for years.
Photography licensing. Nine years of archive across the American West and Southeast Asia.
What we say no to
- Anything we haven’t used, stayed at, eaten at, or driven.
- Writing we don’t control. If we can’t say the honest thing about it, it isn’t worth either of us doing.
- Undisclosed placement. Everything sponsored gets labelled. This is a legal requirement and also just the right way to behave.
- Link insertions into existing posts, guest posts, and anything else whose entire purpose is somebody else’s search rankings.
Why our audience is worth reaching
People come here while they are deciding something. The most-read pages on this site are the ones about being afraid to go, being too old to go, and what it actually costs. That is an audience at the exact moment they are choosing whether to book a trip, buy the van, or keep waiting.
They are not here for a deal. They are here because they are trying to work out whether a different life is available to them. That is a different kind of attention than a discount code buys.
